Recruit Baseball Pathway

The Recruit Baseball Pathway is designed to guide high school athletes through the college baseball recruiting process with structure, accountability, and purpose. Built by Recruit Baseball, the Pathway reflects the same standards and expectations that define our player development—preparation, competitiveness, and doing things the right way.

Through live scouting, accurate evaluation, and direct 1-on-1 relationships with our recruiters, players receive a personalized recruiting experience based on their development, ability level, and long-term goals. We emphasize honest feedback, realistic college placement, and educating families so athletes are positioned correctly within the recruiting landscape.

This is not about shortcuts or exposure for exposure’s sake. It is a disciplined, player-first approach built to support growth, responsibility, and readiness for the next level.

College Recruiting, Scouting & Showcase Advisor

Coach John J. Scanzano brings more than 20 years of experience in college baseball coaching, recruiting, scouting, and program leadership, with a career centered on evaluating talent, developing college-ready athletes, and guiding players through the recruiting process.

Currently entering his third official season as Head Baseball Coach at Camden County College (2026), Coach Scanzano has quickly established himself as a proven college program builder and evaluator. In just two seasons, he transformed the program from four wins to 27 wins, secured the college’s first playoff appearance since 2019, and produced multiple All-Region selections, including the program’s first First-Team All-American since 2018. His teams have led the nation in stolen bases, reflecting an aggressive, intelligent style of play aligned with modern college baseball.

At the core of Coach Scanzano’s success is his deep understanding of college recruiting, roster construction, and player projection. He evaluates athletes through a college coach’s lens—assessing not just tools, but baseball IQ, competitiveness, coachability, and role fit at the next level.

In addition to his collegiate role, Coach Scanzano has spent over seven years as Managing Partner and Director of Baseball Operations for Scanzano Sports / Combat Baseball, overseeing 25+ teams and training 300–350 athletes annually. Through structured development systems, honest evaluations, and targeted exposure, his programs have produced 150+ college commitments across NCAA and NJCAA levels.

Coach Scanzano also brings professional scouting experience, giving Recruit Baseball athletes direct insight into how players are evaluated at the highest levels. This background allows him to bridge the gap between showcase performance and real recruiting impact, ensuring athletes understand how to present themselves effectively in front of college coaches and scouts.

In 2021, he partnered with Milt Thompson, an MLB World Series Champion, to launch a post-graduate baseball program designed to support athletes whose recruiting timelines were disrupted—further reinforcing his long-term, athlete-first approach to development and placement.

Within Recruit Baseball, Coach Scanzano plays a key role in:

  • College recruiting education and guidance

  • Scouting-style player evaluations

  • Showcase preparation and performance context

  • Direct insight into what college coaches are actually looking for

  • Helping families navigate realistic placement and opportunity

His experience as a college head coach, recruiter, and scout provides Recruit Baseball athletes with something most programs cannot: real college context, honest feedback, and informed advocacy throughout the recruiting and showcase process.

Pitching • Recruiting • Showcase Guidance

Coach Rob Ready works exclusively with pitchers, providing families and athletes with clear, honest guidance through the college recruiting and showcase process.

Rob is a former Division I pitcher with experience competing at the highest collegiate level at University of Richmond and University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he logged 167 career innings against elite competition nationwide. Having been inside Division I programs, he understands how college coaches evaluate pitchers, project roles, manage rosters, and make recruiting decisions.

As a highly regarded high school prospect, Rob also went through the national recruiting process firsthand, competing in premier showcases such as the Area Code Games, East Coast Pro, and Super 60. That experience allows him to help pitchers prepare for showcases with the right mindset—focusing on what college coaches actually look for, not just velocity or one outing.

Families working with Coach Ready can expect:

  • Honest evaluations of where a pitcher realistically fits at the college level

  • Clear explanations of how pitchers are recruited and assessed

  • Guidance on showcase performance, preparation, and expectations

  • Insight into how to turn exposure into real recruiting opportunities

His background as both a Division I pitcher and national-level recruit gives Recruit Baseball families confidence that pitchers are being evaluated, guided, and positioned with real college context and realistic expectations.
