Professional Coaches

Chris Turner - Head Trainer

Chris Turner brings a rare blend of professional playing experience and elite-level instruction to The Facility. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 15th round of the 2003 MLB Draft, Chris spent his career in the Red Sox minor league system as an outfielder with additional experience behind the plate. He was part of the historic 2004 Red Sox organization that broke the 86-year championship drought, giving him firsthand exposure to championship-level culture and preparation. His time across multiple affiliates—most notably the Gulf Coast League Red Sox (G-RSX)—shaped a deep understanding of offensive and defensive fundamentals at the professional level.

Following his playing career, Chris transitioned into coaching and quickly became recognized as one of the most well-rounded instructors in the region. He specializes in hitting, outfield, infield, and catching development, training athletes of all ages with a high-level approach rooted in consistency and repeatable mechanics. Chris teaches a classic hitting philosophy that blends modern data-driven concepts with timeless fundamentals, helping players build swings that hold up under game pressure. His defensive coaching emphasizes athletic movement, proper footwork, efficient glove work, and strong throwing mechanics—skills that translate directly to higher levels of play.

At The Facility, Chris serves as a core member of the professional coaching staff, known for his ability to communicate clearly, connect with athletes, and break down complex skills into simple, effective movements. His sessions are detail-driven, competitive, and structured to build complete players who understand not just how to perform a skill, but why it matters. Players training with Chris gain a powerful combination of refined mechanics, improved confidence, and a deeper baseball IQ—making him an invaluable resource in their development journey.

Hayden Fox - Pitching Coach

A Macomb Township native, Hayden began playing T-Ball with the Clinton Valley Little League. At 10 years old, he began playing Federation Ball in the Macomb Amateur Baseball Federation (M.A.B.F). For the next 8 years Hayden would play for a few different summer teams; including the Anchor Bay Angels and the first ever youth JetBox team. Hayden played 3 seasons of Varsity baseball at Dakota High School where he set and still holds the State Record for pickoffs in a game (6), pitched a complete game in the Regional Championship his Junior season, graduated with a 3.50 GPA, and received an athletic scholarship to Oakland University.

At Oakland, Hayden began to fully embrace what it means to be a pitcher; learning how to strengthen and grow not only his physical skills, but his mental skills as well. As a freshman, he pitched exclusively out of the bullpen. Entering the season his sophomore year, Hayden was announced as a weekend conference starting pitcher. Unfortunately, this was cut short due to an injury sustained in the first inning of that first collegiate start.

Motivated more at this point than ever, Hayden went full steam with his recovery process and how he went about his training. Upon returning to campus for his 3rd year, Hayden was now getting the attention of pro scouts; quickly realizing there was a new goal to work towards, “Getting Drafted”. And in July of 2012, Hayden was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 21st round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.

He would go on to pitch for 3 seasons in the Marlins organization before being released in January of 2015.

Hayden then became the pitching coach at Stevenson High School (Sterling Heights) for the 2015 season before re-enrolling at Oakland University in the fall of 2015 to finish up his undergraduate degree. Upon his return to OU, Hayden joined the Oakland Baseball coaching staff to serve as a full time, volunteer, coach. Over the next two years Hayden was a full-time student and a full-time, volunteer coach.

Graduating in the spring of 2017 with a bachelor degree in Communications, Hayden continued coaching at Oakland for one more year. After which hereturned to Stevenson High School for the 2019 season. From 2020-2022 Hayden was the pitching coach for Henry Ford II’s varsity team.

In addition to all the team coaching Hayden has done, he has also been working with kids of all ages and skill sets since 2013; helping them discover the art of pitching, becoming masters of their own bodies, and learning the techniques and skills to become a mental warrior. With a strong skillset in video editing and a vast knowledge of the game, Hayden breaks down the pitching delivery to a level that can be understood and digested by pretty much anyone. Hayden not only offers professional level pitching instruction, he also helps players with college recruiting videos, nutrition & weight gain, injury prevention/recovery, arm care & strengthening, mobility & stability, along with goal setting and mental toughness training.
